Dr. Snyder and Family

RS

Dr. Rhonda Snyder was born and raised locally in Thurston County. At the young age of 11 years old, she was able to witness a spay surgery and from then on, knew that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She went to college at Washington State University and did 3 years of undergraduate work, after which she studied Veterinary Medicine for 4 years. Rhonda graduated, summa cum laude, in 1988. After practicing for 5 years in the Seattle area, Dr. Snyder returned home to Lacey, WA, to create Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in 1993. Dr. Snyder and her husband, Jack, designed the hospital. Then, with the help and support of family and friends, Jack built the entire hospital where originally there was just an empty lot! Mountain View Veterinary Hospital achieved American Animal Hospital Association accreditation in early 1994 and has always strived to practice the best medicine possible for the "fuzzy family" of her clients. Starting out with one veterinarian, one staff member, and Jack, who became a veterinary assistant and receptionist, Mountain View Veterinary Hospital has grown into a six-doctor facility with a staff of over twenty people. Despite growing larger, at its heart, this hospital is still a small business that believes in the loving bond between people and pets.

Dr. Snyder has 3 children, Jake, who is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Mountain View, Eric who is currently serving in the Navy, and her daughter Cassie who is also attending Washington State University, currently studying education and is a member of the Cougar Marching Band. Dr. Snyder’s family also consists of many pets, she currently has 5 cats: Nakor, I-Scream, Georgie, Kreacher and her newest Phoenix. Her dogs are Monster, a 10-year-old Flat Coated Retriever who loves swimming, hiking, and eating dog cookies, and her newest dog is Grim, currently less than a year old, also a Flat Coated Retriever who pretty much likes EVERYTHING. The family pets also proudly serve as blood donors when client's pets are in need of emergency transfusions.

When she is not at work, Rhonda also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, hiking, reading, cooking, and an occasional ride on a rollercoaster.  When she gets the chance, Monster and Grim accompany her on quiet walks on the Chehalis Western trail.

When founding Mountain View Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Snyder created a facility that practices the standard of care that she expects for her own "critter kids." She really appreciates the staff, “they are true heartfelt caring people who want to help animals at the deepest level of their souls.” The staff always strive to stay current on the best medicine and practices and do their best to exceed their client’s expectations. Dr. Snyder drives her team to give the type of care that she expects for her own pets so that Mountain View Veterinary Hospital will provide the same for your pets. Because at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital, we know they're not just pets…they're family.
